Euro magazine discovered that, on average, Czechs have Kč 1m each socked away in foreign banks. That's Kč 100bn all told. As it always goes with averages, some have more, and some have less. Take famous Prague lobbyist Roman Janoušek, for example. He's reported to have a cool Kč 2bn stashed away in a Swiss account. He can't access it, though, because the Swiss police are hot on his tail for alleged fraud. Reporter Jaroslav Kmenta of MFD predicted that Janoušek will abandon the Kč 2bn instead of letting the Swiss use it to hang him. Or perhaps, just maybe, a tax amnesty will be announced that allows him and other mega millionaires to bring their fortunes home. Coincidentally, a tax amnesty is one of the campaign ideas of VV. Coincidentally, VV is rumored to be Janoušek's brainchild. Maybe this is one reason VV's poll numbers are rising: Czechs have 100bn reasons to want it in Parliament.[Czech Republic Radek John Věci veřejné MF Dnes]
