Global struggle against violent extremism
2005-08-04
The CR doesn't have any global terrorists (so far), so Premier Jiří
Paroubek is creating his own out of the techno dancers who
gathered over the weekend. Of course he's not directly calling
them terrorists, but he wrote in LN that they're led by a hard
core of obsessed people with anarchic tendencies and
international connections and were "terrorizing" the local
residents with their noise, filth and other vexations. Interior
Minister František Bublan, Paroubek's chief anti-terrorist
enforcer, told the BBC that the dancers who defied police orders
to leave the techno party came looking for a conflict. He also
sidestepped the question of whether the intelligence services
had been called into action against them. Paroubek is displaying
initial symptoms of Aznar Syndrome. He should keep in mind
that after Jose Maria Aznar tried to use the Madrid terrorist
bombings for political gain, he was swiftly escorted out of office
by enraged voters.
