Love gone wrong
2008-07-11
Breakdowns in communication are a leading cause of divorce,
and the problem is exacerbated if the two spouses can't speak
the same language. Empirical evidence suggests that mixed
marriages often fail in the CR because the spouses initially
communicate with body language in the horizontal position.
Once the novelty wears off and one of them learns the other's
language, they often find they don't actually like each other very
much. That's when the bilingual shouting matches begin, with
each side spitting out hateful insults in rapid-fire exchanges the
other can't comprehend. And so it will be with the grand new
plan, as reported by MFD, to go to Vietnam to hire nurses. It'll be
love at first sight - quality labor for a cheap price - but imagine
the language problem! The first time the doctor diagnoses
erythema, and the Vietnamese nurse gives the patient an enema,
it'll be time to file for divorce.
