Michael Moore invades Prague
Václav Klaus told TV Nova last week that he can't recommend
"Fahrenheit 9/11" to anyone, but a full house showed up anyway
at the Světozor theater in Prague on Sat. for the premiere. The
crowd was overwhelmingly biased against George W. Bush. The
film itself probably didn't convince anyone, because most
viewers had clearly made up their mind in advance. In an
organized discussion after the showing, most comments were
critical of U.S. foreign policy and the effort to export democracy.
The few Bush backers criticized the film for being Goebbels-like
propaganda and for taking liberties with the facts. Such
comments were met with sneers and boos. Klaus, too, told Nova
that the film brought back memories of communist propaganda.
In a stab at the Republicans, though, he said Moore's
propaganda is perhaps a reaction to the propaganda from the
other side. democrats republican party democratic
