Malcolm X said publicly in Dec. 1963 that the rival black activist Martin Luther King Jr. was collaborating with the white man. X called King's "March on Washington" in Aug. of that year a "Farce on Washington." By keeping black people marching between two dead presidents (Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument), X said, they never had the chance to reach the then-live president, John F. Kennedy. Before the Million Moments for Democracy group began its march on Prague yesterday between a dead duke (Wenceslas) and a dead president (Wilson), it informed protesters that at next week's event, opposition politicians will be invited to present their wares and their visions. "Demonstrations in and of themselves are not enough," said Chair Mikuláš Minář. "Quality, constructive political work by the opposition parties is also necessary." Million Moments is thus entering a new phase, one of collaborating with the parties that allowed Andrej Babiš to rise to power. [ Czech Republic democratic civil rights ]
