Donald Trump said that unless you tell others about your successes, they probably won't know about them. More and more Czech business associations are starting to toot their own horns. They want to show that they're the most important and the most influential. The Banking Association took credit for selling its vision of bankruptcy reform to Vladimír Špidla. The Confederation of Industry said that it was to thank for the corporate-tax and depreciation changes. Everyone's taking credit for commercial-registry reform. And the Economic Chamber claims that it's improving the business environment so much that membership in the organization should be mandatory. If these groups (and others) were only half this influential, the CR would be an entrepreneur's paradise. As in the case of near-bankrupt Trump, it usually pays to look beyond the pomposity.
