The Nato summit will be one of the best occasions the CR has had to promote itself as a stable political and economic environment, a first-class conference location, and a booming manufacturing site. But getting foreign journalists to report on anything other than the military aspects of the summit (and, of course, Václav Havel's big red heart), will be a challenge. The Tourism Authority, with desks at the airport and the Congress Center, will try to sell them on other stories. The U.S. embassy and the American Chamber of Commerce's tourism working group, with the help of the Tourism Authority and CzechInvest, will also hold a press conference for foreign journalists and will dangle interesting leads at them. As one of the organizers said: The CR has gotten a lot of bad press, and now it's time to quit crying and do something about it.
