Dep. Speaker of the House Jan Bartošek told CNN Prima News that Russia wants to draw the world into a larger conflict and that the world will definitely react to the barbarous acts, either as Nato or as individual countries. The caption asked, "When will Nato intervene militarily?" U.S. Pres. Joe Biden nevertheless continues to speak about "stay[ing] the course" in providing assistance but not going in militarily, and the American public and his political rivals mostly believe him. Franklin D. Roosevelt insisted right up until Pearl Harbor that the U.S. wouldn't get involved in WWII. In Oct. 1939, he accused those who doubted his commitment not to go to war of promulgating "one of the worst fakes in current history" and of "deliberate[ly] setting up of an imaginary bogey man." What Czech politicians say about possible Nato intervention has little international significance; it's only when Biden starts vehemently denying "fake" allegations by his rivals that military intervention will be near.
