Spokesman Filip Běhal of the finance ministry said last Wed. that the cabinet prefers an EU-wide plan for capping energy prices for large companies and hasn't yet discussed when a national plan might take effect and what the parameters might be. Vice PM Ivan Bartoš of the Pirates said in Právo on Sat. that whether he will support a national cap depends on the parameters and the details and that they haven't yet been finalized. PM Petr Fiala spent 60 minutes in front of the camera the next day on Czech TV and didn't reveal any more about the cabinet's plans. Then in the second half of the OVM show (starting at 13h42m), lobbyist Tomáš Prouza, who is also an adviser to Industry Min. Jozef Síkela, said that the cabinet already has a national plan ready and that he thinks it should only cover maybe 70% or 80% of a large company's energy consumption. Is this the way the Fiala government now operates? A paid lobbyist is the one who announces government policy on national TV? [ Czech Republic Television Otázky Václav Moravce retail STAN ]
