One of the most-controversial decisions of the Fiala government was the signature of Defense Min. Jana Černochová on an agreement to buy F-35 fighters. Russia is intending to attack Europe if it is allowed to win in Ukraine, according to the Czech government, yet that same Czech government froze army salaries so that it could buy attack fighters for delivery long after Russia might have already invaded Central Europe. One of the objectives of the resolution passed by the ruling coalition last week is to prevent ANO and SPD from raising such issues. Criticism of defense acquisitions could be considered under the resolution to be support for the "war propaganda of the Russian terrorist regime." Speaker of the House Markéta Pekarová Adamová said on Czech TV on Sat. that we can see by the outcome of the vote who is on Ukraine's side and views Russia as the biggest threat to us and the world.
