Jiří Paroubek objects to comparisons of his marital break-up with the collapse of Mirek Topolánek's marriage. Paroubek told MFD that, unlike Topolánek, he agreed with his wife on a separation before he began another relationship. The even bigger difference is the way Paroubek stresses that his divorce will be friendly and that his wife will be taken care of financially. He seems to be doing all he can to make sure the situation doesn't get out of control. He might simply be a swell guy, or he might be worried that a vindictive ex-spouse will reveal something about his lucrative days as deputy Prague mayor and PM. Topolánek, in contrast, doesn't need to worry about what his estranged wife says about his financial situation. He's been cleared of machinations at VAE, and any expensive watches or other signs of gratitude received as PM would have come after the stormy break-up.[Czech Republic MF Dnes premier infidelity]
