Ex-PM Mirek Topolánek was quoted in early 2010 as saying that the Opencard project was a typical "Double Jan" - Janoušek and Jansta. Nothing at Prague city hall moves without the Double Jan, he said. Topolánek seemed to know what he was speaking about, but if Roman Janoušek was only one half of the Jan duo, why do the wiretaps released by MFD contain no mention of the other twin, Miroslav Jansta? The two Jans must have been in constant contact. However, as noted yesterday on Czech TV's OVM, the recordings have Janoušek as the focal point and were apparently cherry-picked from the archives to do maximum damage to him, perhaps with the goal of running him out of Prague city hall entirely. Bém is not so important at this point, but Jansta is still a key player and has control of the till at the ČSTV sports union. Perhaps MFD is merely saving the Jan-Jan wiretaps for another day.[Czech Republic ODS ČSSD Television Otázky Václava Moravce]
