If Prague Prosecutor Martin Erazím had taken "several months" to review the recommendation of his subordinate Jaroslav Šaroch to drop the Stork's Nest proceedings, as Erazím's spokesman had said he might, Erazím could have been the star of the show when tens or even hundreds of thousands of people stage a demonstration on Nov. 16. Instead, all eyes will be on Supreme State Prosecutor Pavel Zeman. He has three months to make a final Stork's Nest ruling, but if he wants to make a real splash, he only has two months. He needs to act one way or the other before the Nov. 16 demonstration. As we know, though, Pavel Zeman would never act politically. Remember how the first request by the police to lift the parliamentary immunity of Andrej Babiš and Jaroslav Faltýnek came soon before the Oct. 2017 parliamentary elections? Zeman assured HN at the time that this decision, which baffled even some of Babiš's opponents, had nothing to do with the elections.
