PM Andrej Babiš suffered a setback last month when the Supreme Court overturned a lower-court ruling in a slander suit filed against him by Bison & Rose PR agency. More interesting than the details of the case itself are the circumstances. Like the libel lawsuits filed against us by lawyer Radek Pokorný, the legal action against Babiš by Bison & Rose was begun when Bohuslav Sobotka was still the prime minister and Milan Chovanec was the interior minister. Pokorný was telling Sobotka what to do, according to Robert Šlachta, and Milan Růžička of Bison & Rose was advising Chovanec. With such illustrious advisers behind them, these two ČSSD politicians ran their party into the ground and then disappeared. Even if Bison & Rose wins its lawsuit after six or seven years of back-in-forth in court and gets an apology from Babiš, what will it have achieved? It will have reminded the public of its role in the near-death of ČSSD, which really isn't the greatest PR outcome. [ Czech Republic public relations ÚOOZ PM ]
