The resignation on Fri. of Pavel Blažek as justice minister due to a billion-crown bitcoin transaction leaves a lot of unanswered questions, the most important of which is: Who knew what, and when did they know it? Blažek is taking the full rap himself so far, but MP Taťána Malá of ANO told TV Prima yesterday that she thinks that PM Petr Fiala was in the loop, because BIS counterintelligence works very reliably and makes reports about much-less-serious matters. A party colleague, ANO Vice Chair Karel Havlíček, said an hour later on Czech TV (39m) that the intelligence services must have known. So why not ask Lt. Gen. Michal Koudelka of BIS to attend the special session of Parliament on Thur., as Gen. of the Army Karel Řehka did in March, when the issue was national security? Koudelka could explain what security precautions were taken, who was informed and when, and why a reporter at Deník N - and not BIS itself - was the one who exposed this as an issue of major significance.
