Pres. Petr Pavel accepted the resignation of Pavel Blažek as justice minister with effect as of yesterday, and one of the first things Blažek did after leaving his position was to post a tweet that cast doubt on the work of Czech law enforcement in his bitcoin affair. Blažek wrote on X that, "The intelligence services should investigate whether the spread of rumors and disinformation is now driven by the intent of some 'enemy of the state' from business, the Czech repressive apparatus, or another state (its intelligence services)." He spoke of "selectively planted police records" and said that, "It's clearly not just about bitcoins now." There are several possibilities of what he's getting at, but the most likely seems to be that he's following up on the claim by journalist Lenka Zlámalová of Daniel Křetínský's Czech News Center that the NCOZ crime squad is behind leaks to the press. NCOZ is ultimately overseen by Interior Min. Vít Rakušan of STAN. Is he perhaps the "enemy of the state" of which Blažek spoke? [ Czech Republic ODS Twitter ]
