Final Word from Wednesday, August 20, 2025

Let's return for a moment to the imaginary bitcoin Venn diagram we proposed in early July, with its overlapping circles of those who worked on the "money-laundering" scheme of ex-Justice Min. Pavel Blažek, those who might have profited from it and those who are now trying to cover all the tracks. In the center are Blažek and others from ODS. Blažek's latest tweets about a return to the '50s and an allusion to the police raids of 2013 are a sign that he feels the walls closing in. It's again the Olomouc senior state prosecutor causing ODS all the trouble. Not Ivo Ištvan, but Radim Dragoun. Lawyer Kárim Titz, representing bitcoin philanthropist Tomáš Jiřikovský, is right there with Blažek on the diagram, but his legal activities are already under review, and he's becoming the weak link. He knows all the ugly bitcoin details but isn't a key political player. Given all the mysterious deaths of key witnesses in the scandals of ODS and STAN, Dragoun should probably offer Titz police protection for his testimony. [ Czech Repubiic X Twitter arrest ]
