Chief State Prosecutor Lenka Bradáčová, who gave witness in the bitcoin case involving Tomáš Jiřikovský and recused herself from it on Aug. 14 of last year, told Právo last week that she "learned of the existence of the donation agreement" a few days before she assumed her new post on April 1 of last year. That was the answer she gave twice to the question of whether it's true that she learned of the bitcoins several weeks in advance. She gave a similar response to Seznam Zprávy in late June of last year, without ever saying when she actually first learned of the existence of the bitcoins themselves. She also told Seznam with regard to Jiřikovský's own testimony in court that a defendant can choose to remain silent, to lie or to tell the truth and that the defense tactic can't be held against the accused. When it comes to explaining to the public when she first learned about Jiřikovský's billions of crowns in bitcoin, she seems to be applying the same rules of criminal proceedings to herself, although she isn't (yet) a defendant.
