Rarely has a high-ranking appointed government official used personal attacks to defend his or her position as much as Supreme State Prosecutor Lenka Bradáčová. When Adam Bašný resigned as a high-level prosecutor and complained about a "synergy of key interests and support" on the part of Bradáčová, ex-Justice Min. Pavel Blažek and ex-chief prosecutor Pavel Zeman, Bradáčová sidestepped the issue in an interview with Právo and said that Bašný couldn't know what he was talking about and was criticizing them for his own career reasons. When State Prosecutor Petra Lastovecká (who resigned yesterday) went public to defend herself against repeated attacks from Blažek about a Brno criminal case he was indirectly involved in, Bradáčová sought strict disciplinary action against her. The real issue in both cases was Bradáčová's relationship to Blažek and his backroom dealings. The longer it takes Justice Min.
